Ma Bell still exists in the US too, we just call it AT&T now.

Thants not just any garden gnome, that’s David the Gnome.
Wait, this is a joke? I’m pretty sure we talked about the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl at the annual “You didn’t vote Republican so you’re part of the Deep State” meeting back in August
Oh shit, was I supposed to keep my mouth shut?
If you like Rage Against the Machine, Tom Morello did a solo project called The Nightwatchman that had a lot of great protest songs. I think it’s closer to 15 years old, so not the last 10.
Exactly! Sorry I used the word likely instead of presumptive. As for the other parties, people can vote for their candidates too but like the write ins, they usually don’t win.
Not if you live in America, you can write in your vote for anyone you want. But it’s America so the two major parties each nominate one person and then most people choose between those two people and usually one becomes president. Donald Trump and Joe Biden are the current likely nominees from the two major parties. Some people do the write in thing and usually the person they write in is not elected president. It’s not a great system but that’s the one in America for the 2024 election.
So a loser wants to hire another loser after their last loser lost.
Don’t forget to add that he’s a loser
I use the Voyager app to browse Lemmy and it has those filters.
They want “boarder security” not “immigration reform”. They can campaign to their base on the first but not the second.
What a bunch of turds. They want to “secure the border” but don’t want immigration reform because immigration reform would allow in….immigrants. But, I’d bet money that most(all?) of the people in congress against immigration reform would happily use the Statue of Liberty in their ads.
I think that it’s not people thinking Biden would lose. I don’t see any point in it because the MAGA crowd don’t want to listen to anything Biden says so why even give them any potential ammo?
It’s basically what Trump is doing now with the Republican primary debates. No one says anything bad about Trump and they just keep attacking each other. Of course if Biden doesn’t debate, some will say Biden is too afraid but just turn it around on them and ask why isn’t Trump at any of the primary debates?
Why is Ukraine aid being tied to immigration policy in the first place? I know the political reasons, the right wants tougher boarders and the left wants to support Ukraine and the centrists want both but the issues are mutually exclusive.
Neither side is going to be happy and a compromise is that much harder when tying two things together than are completely separate issues.
I stopped reading in the third paragraph when the article’s author took an unnecessary swipe at teachers.
Edit: So I went back and read the whole thing and what a pile of crap. The author claims that the entire thing was a Christian event because they met at the church and the one person that was quoted, Sam Adams, was a Christian. Could the church also have been the biggest building for all of them to meet? I don’t know just asking. It also talks about how great it was because it wasn’t violent, they just destroyed property. I wonder what tune the author was singing during protests in 2020? Protests in 2020 happens after government law enforcement killed a man (Boston Massacre anyone?) Its almost as if there’s a lot of nuance to these situations and making yourself feel better with a 5 minute article doesn’t fully explain the historical situation or it’s context. Maybe let those teachers and historians take care of it since this author is clearly out of their element.
Yes, your 100% right, that would be much better, but if Republican whine this much about gas stoves and plastic straws it’s not going to happen soon. My feeling in it is, baby steps are better than no steps.
I absolutely want the government mandating what kind of straws we can use on public lands. The government mandates and subsidies so many things, I’d rather they do that for the benefit of everyone rather than a few babies that are afraid of change. They’ll say it’s about government overreach or the “nanny state” they are just afraid of change.
The Room is fun/bad so I don’t think of it as a bad movie. When I think of a bad movie, I think of one I never want to see ever again. That’s just my two cents though.
The Devil Inside, I’m not a huge horror fan and possession/haunted house movies are my least favorite of the genre. I went because that’s what my date wanted to see. It was so boring I started to fall asleep and when it finally got a little more exciting, Spoilers it ended with a sudden car crash, cut to black, and then text popped up saying that if you want to know more, go to some bullshit website. What a waste of $40.
So he’s offering that money to name it after himself?
I’m not even clicking on that link, I never click on stuff with that turd’s name on the headline, just wanted to make the joke.
I may be wrong but I believe dish soap is an alkaline/base and I know vinegar is acidic. If you mix the two, they are going to neutralize each other. I’d try just the vinegar and some hot water, that’s I use to clean water scale build ups.
