Yep same thing happened to me. I don’t know how I managed the quick reflexes after 17hrs London to Perth, but I guess not wanting my laptop to break trumps jet lag.
I’m a tall person and, when I can’t get extra leg room, I don’t have an issue with the person in front of me reclining their seat. I do the same if the flight is longer than maybe 2 or 3 hours for the same reason, it’s more comfortable and I can stretch my body in different ways so I’m actually able to walk off the plane.

At least that’s been removed. If only that were the only issue…

9·1 month agoThat’s to Ceres, Mars is only 9 months, so how do we get from 9 months to 23k hours?

Technology@lemmy.world•NASA fired up a prototype of its electromagnetic thruster inside a vacuum chamber, reaching power levels of up to 120 kilowatts—the highest achieved in U.S. tests of an electric propulsion system
23·1 month agoInteresting read, this part caught my eye:
Launching a crewed spacecraft to Mars might require 2 to 4 megawatts of power, meaning multiple MPD thrusters operating for more than 23,000 hours. This presents a challenge as the hardware operates at high temperatures, and the team needs to prove that the thruster’s components can withstand the heat for multiple hours during upcoming tests.
Would the thrusters really run the full 23k hours? That’s just shy of 960 days, surely once you reach a certain speed you wouldn’t need to run them continuously at full power.
What is this from? It looks vaguely Dune-y

A self driving vehicle that you own, sure, but the point of a taxi is that you aren’t supposed to drive. A passenger doesn’t need a drivers license to enter a taxi, doesn’t need to think about how much they’ve had to drink. Also im not from the US but do these things even have steering wheels and pedals? I tried searching and found some articles where Wayne unveiled cars without them, but couldn’t see if they’re now in use commonly.
