    AI companies are paying in tokens to 1) generate more users for their shitty product and 2) save money.

    Those are not signs of a healthy, growing industry. Those look like the last desperate attempts to right the sinking ship.

    This is a good way to pay shitty offshore code churn centers and then claim the code they write is AI generated. Which we’ve already seen before. So it’s not unheard of.

    Back in the day, I did see some cryptocurrency companies try to pay staff with their cryptocurrency. It’s actually a good selection mechanism for the true believers.

    I mean the tokens basically represent time to use a slave, so tell the slave to do something profitable with the tokens and pocket the surplus value
