Pretty sure I missed out on a job several years ago because the guy interviewing me was a Friedman blow hard.
He found out I have an econ degree and asked me who I follow. I said people like Paul Krugman, and he was like “Oh you’re one of those. I’m more of a Friedman guy.” The interview changed after that. No follow-up or offer.
Edit: That guy got laid off last month along with the position I had applied for. So sad…
