Welcome to today’s daily kōrero!

Anyone can make the thread, first in first served. If you are here on a day and there’s no daily thread, feel free to create it!

Anyway, it’s just a chance to talk about your day, what you have planned, what you have done, etc.

So, how’s it going?

Any tips on removing super glue from skin? I was opening a new tube, and when I pierced the end it went everywhere! I looked online and it said detergent, lemon juice, or oil. None worked. I also tried isopropyl alcohol and meths and neither worked 🙁

Cyanoacrylate is a moisture cure adhesive. You have lots of moisture in your skin which helps it cure.
Cyanoacrylate is used in medical glue because it bonds so well with skin. Depending on the cut/injury, the medic may apply glue instead of stitches.

It’s doing its job. Don’t use acetone, it’s bad for you.

I scrape it off with a Stanley knife blade.

I gave nail polish remover a go anyway on one patch and it didn’t seem to make a significant difference. I don’t have any digits stuck together so I think I might just wait it out until it wears itself off.

Nail polish remover and cotton wool or something similarly fibre-filled, like an old towel.

I gave it a go on the worst patch but it didn’t seem to help much 🙁. One other finger seems to be wearing off pretty quick though. Maybe it won’t last too long.

Only other thing I can think of is moisturiser. Like, hand cream and then use a green scrubbing thingy.

It seems to have mostly worn off on its own. It went from looking like nothing would remove it to just wearing off surprisingly quickly.

I was hoping to speed up the process since I had two fingers and a thumb almost covered over on side. It really made quite a mess. Not too bad now, though.
