The 2020 primary ran from February to August, 6 months. Not counting the years worth of campaigning before the first primary.
Biden stepped down from running 7/21, which means they would have had 1 month to run the primary before the Democratic convention.
You can’t condense a 6 month schedule down into 1 month, can’t be done. Or if could be done, it would take more than a month to plan the logistics of it.
There wasn’t time and they were too busy losing to AIPAC backed candidates.
