Kbin.social looks to have some of the magazines/communities I’m interested in that aren’t currently hosted on lemmy but the links don’t seem to be propagating.

In theory we should be able to subscribe as we’re federated with them. Has anyone managed to get it working?

I’ve heard kbin.social is temporarily using CloudFlare to stop DDOS attacks and manage the sudden influx of users. That apparently stops you being able to subscribe from Lemmy, but it should be working again soon.

I’d like to know how to do it once it’s working though.

Just to clarify, in general, Cloudflare doesn’t stop this (we use Cloudflare). However, in a DDoS preventing situation, Cloudflare will show a capcha to requests that it thinks might not be genuine users. If a server contacting another server gets presented a capcha, it will not be able to proceed so things break.

Yep, by subbing the same way as all the others.

On jerboa, in the communities tab->paste in the full url to get the magazine in scope-> reload the tab & search for the mag-> go to it-> subscribe.

No issues. This was a week ago though, when I was on a sub spree. Might have got a bit börked since
